State of the Domain Q1 2003 Report just out:
https://www.sotd.info/sotd/content/documents/SOTDQ103.pdf
NetSol's market share of CNOBINU further drops to only 25.34% and below the 8 million mark.
Regarding GoDaddy & eNom's duel, the former has superceded the 2 million mark, replacing MelbourneIT and becomes #4 on the chart.
I found this statistic particularly interesting, as of 03/31/2003, the total number of registered:
.biz domains: 891,200
.info domains: 1,069,266
Is anyone else surprised that there are more .info domains than .biz registered? Do you all feel that .biz is going to flop, and people with a business will simply register a .com?

Well in theory, .info is a bit more general. It could be used for organizations, churches, schools, businesses, families, etc. I have one (or two, who knows) .info personally, and was considering registering one for my school.
.biz on the other hand, is slightly more limited. I mean, it certainly wouldn't be appropriate to have schoolname.biz or churchname.biz or familyname.biz -that would just be weird.
To be honest, I'm still surprised that .net never 'did that well' and wasn't recognized as the primary TLD. I mean, it even has part of the word 'internet' in it, and it is a common, short 3-letter word which is difficult to misspell.
Doesn't make sense to me.

That higher .info registration number might simply be that it's actually open for "business" earlier and was the ONLY and long-waited alternative to CNO back then. :)

Yes, like nameslave said, .info came out first. I know I jumped on the bandwagon and got my primary domains .info extension so I could have it. Now, I'm just waiting until September when it will expire. It'll be two years at that point. I only have the one .info domain and not that there's anything against it but I could use some other domain for the little that it does for me. I believe that when .biz came out afterwards, people weren't as easily fooled with the auction style that the registrars pulled to sell these domains. I know I didn't.
