has anyone had the misfortune of using these guys?
I thought i would give them a go as they were pretty cheap.....then i tried to change the nameservers and got told that to do that i need to cancel my account with them !

I've never had any issues with them. Moved all my domains to 1&1 actually. You should be able to change the nameserver setting easily in the control panel.

.....then i tried to change the nameservers and got told that to do that i need to cancel my account with them !... the point being that if you change your nameservers, you're no longer using the hosting with them, hence their comment!

Was the domain a free one through them? Maybe with a timeframe before you could move the domain to a different providor?
