I just agreed today, in principle to sell the domain gslb.com. I registered the domain a little more than a year ago when I intended to write a book about Global Server Load Balancing (I thought it would make a cool companion site).

So, today I get an email from someone at Gerard Singer Levick & Busch, P.C. He wants to buy the domain name. Its weird, I never figured that particular name had any value, but it apparently has 3 digits worth :).

The best part is, they agreed to write into the contract that I can register the domain gslb.info if I decide to go forward with the book for a different publisher :).

Not too bad. It's nice when you are contacted without initiating the contact regarding selling something. I was recently trying to help a client find a suitable domain name and everything close to their company name is taken. They may have to do the same thing as that person did with you. Good thing you held onto the domain. :)

My best domain sale was like that. Domain of little value (one I actually registered by mistake). They wanted it though, and that is the best potential buyer there is. I don't think I'm all that good at the speculation game. Congrats!

Actually gslb.net would be more appropriate for a book on Global Server Load Balancing, but then both gslb.net and gslb.info have been registered.
