ICANN just published its 8th status report to U.S. DoC (Department of Commerce) which concludes its progress in the past 12 months:

Most people would of course be more interested in the adoption of so-called Consumer Driven Initiatives" such as RGP (Redemption Grace Period) and WLS (Wait-Listing Service).
