View Full Version : 400,000 domains deleted... when?

I thought this was to happen March 1st? Is it happening, did it already happen? Deleteddomains had a note...
** Please Note **: due to a change in how domains are deleted and made available again for registration, we are experiencing a temporary disruption in the volume of domains
currently being deleted. In effect, all domains due for deletion have been given an additional grace period. As a result, few domains are being deleted. We currently estimate that over 400,000 domains are set for deletion when this grace period ends (estimated to be March 1).

We also expect that once this grace period has ended, the number of domains that will be deleted on a daily basis will return to normal.
OK, so according to them, they say it was estimated to be March 1st, so I'm just wondering if they aren't listing it or if it hasn't happened or if I'm missing something?

I read a post on WHT maybe. That the drop would happen Monday. Something to do with all teh recent changes. I subcribe to a drop name mailing list. I can't wait to open my email tomorrow morning!

It will make you laugh. I found the service on ebay for 2.50 a month. The only problem is with the dmoz and yahoo. With all the changes lately part of the names listed as deleted are still registered. While other will be on hold for awhile. But I have noticed that quite a few of the deleted domain names end up for sale on ebay.

Not that I want to look through 400,000 domains (or whatever), but is there a place to see some of the names dropped?

Well, I picked up g0t.net which isn't too bad. Will be monitoring it for anything that catches my eye. I have to restrain myself. Found a few I liked actually, but was a good Chicken.
