Rumor has it Tucows and Register.com are merging...and layoffs to come.

Agreed, but Register.com has strong penetration into the Enterprise market, which is something that Tucows has not been able to do.

Who is merging with who is the question? I have seen people complain about Register.com, but not usually about Tucows.

Let's hope this rumor just goes down the mill ... I'd rather believe that Register.com is selling off NameBargain.com, just like they did with AfterNic.com a few months ago.

I would guess Tucows is buying Register.com. If you go through Register.com's quarterly reports for the last year, they have been making changes to the company that will make it ripe for purchase.

They had, and rejected, two buyout offers in 2002, so this could be the one. We'll see.

I don't even trust things after I have seen the press release. Pud may be a moron, but a lot of his rumors have proved true...so I don't discount anything he says.
