I know that enom used to have a fee to reactivate domains that had expired (can't recall how much, but like $30-ish). Now it shows the reactivation fee as the regular amount you'd have to pay, but with a red asterisk(*). Well, I can't find what this asterisk refers to, nor any mention of additional reactivation fees. Anyone reactivate an expired domain and know how much it costs?

Do you mean once the domain has entered the redemption period? That would be $200

eNom Redemption Period Process

- Once deleted from our database, it falls into the 30-day holding status called Redemption Period.
- Should you want to retrieve the domain during Redemption, there is a $200 fee to you plus the cost of the renewal.
- Only the previous registrant has the right to request the domain back. All others must wait until VeriSign drops the domain.
- During the 5-day Pending Delete status, we cannot recover the domain.

After the redemption period you can register the domain at the normal price.

Yes, this new fee to renew a domain in it's redemption period was just brought into effect recently. It is a pretty stiff penelty if you miss your renewal :D

Well, eNom isn't specific exactly. The domains are in:

You have 3 domain names that have expired and need to be reactivated.

I'm not sure this is the redemption period yet or not???

The reactivate price is listed as: 11.95*

This isn't in my account, it is in a sub-retail account.

Update:

Err.. OK, I went into the sub account and clicked on 'reactivate this domain' thinking it would bring up a total amount and the usual 'are you sure?' type prompt, which errrr... it didn't.

I got a copy of the email and according to it, my customer's card (whoops!) was charged $11.95
TOTAL BILLED: $11.95 USD to your MASTERCARD
So I guess reactivation is different than the redemption period, hopefully! I know he wouldn't have wanted to pay $200, and if it charged him that, I'm dead!!!
